The various academic units of UCAN operate a number of laboratories for research and teaching of technical methods. These include laboratories and courses for bioarchaeology and osteology, ceramic analysis, GIS / spatial / landscape analysis, media, quantitative methods, and zooarchaeology. In addition, the Argonne National Laboratory is available for those who wish to learn advanced physico-chemical materials analysis techniques. For technical specialties that are not covered by UCAN, training is available by cooperative arrangements with other universities.
